Join Sandusky County Convention & Visitor's Bureau in Downtown Fremont, Ohio "The White Bass and Walleye Capital of the Great Lakes", along the Sandusky River to kick off the 3rd annual Fishing and Outdoor Festival. Get Hooked on fishing and the great outdoors in Downtown Fremont, Saturday, May 18th from 9 am to 3 pm!
Ohio’s Coolest Outdoor festival only comes once a year! Don’t miss the third annual event! Good FREE family fun! Spring Walleye and White Bass fishing on the Sandusky River has been enjoyed by anglers for generations and as a community, you are invited to come out to enjoy a day of music, food, friends, fun and fishing! This FREE family friendly outdoor event will feature live music, great food vendors and TONS of awesome displays including: New fishing boats on display by area dealers as well as ATVS, Side by Sides and more. New and used campers and camping gear by local dealers and the archery trailer by ODNR. There will also be animals and displays by the Sandusky County Parks District and back by popular demand…the 2500 gallon “Hawg Trough” semi fish tank, fully stocked with game fish. Watch as Pro Bass fisherman, “Michael Simonton” takes the Hawg Trough Stage to demonstrate fishing and lure techniques and see how the fish react and strike as Michael gives fishing tips to those in attendance. Join Sandusky CVB in Sandusky County for a guided tour of the historic 1892 Sandusky County jail that has ties to President Rutherford B. Hayes then walk through an underground tunnel to our 1840's Dungeon located underneath the Sandusky County Courthouse. Hear exciting stories of some of the colorful criminals that resided in the jail while learning the significance of this rare and historic structure.
